For the first time in history, the famed European fromagers of Essex Street Cheese are blowing in to the Windy City.
During a night of beer and fromage with our friends at Goose Island, you can listen to Betty Koster of Fromagerie L'amuse, Giorgio Cravero of Cravero Parmigiano Reggiano, Fernando Rodriguez Aldudo of Quéseria 1605, and the Essex Sistas regale you with tales of these centuries-old cheeses and how a young import company built a portfolio based on filling the voids in the American cheese landscape, resulting in a close-knit family of professionals with the same goals...and appetite for life.
$5 gets you in the door and will be immediately donated to the Daphne Zepos Teaching Award, a $5,000 annual scholarship founded by Essex's late co-founder, Daphne Zepos. This scholarship will grow a squad of cheese professionals to teach about the history, culture and techniques in making, aging and selling cheese.
